Jackie is funny but his jokes fucking suck. Some of his stuff is actually the definition of a bad joke. The premise is that the person has no ears? Sometimes he just has a punchline so he makes up some shitty way to get there.

I hate winter, but I listen to and watch Jackie to cheer my myself up. Not every day, maybe once a week. Works every time.

I don't think people truly understand who Jackie was or is. I listened to the Stern show every morning when it was simulcast out of WYSP in Philly. Jackie was that uncle that many of us either had or knew. So I always saw him as my dirty Uncle Jackie. His jokes are not all that good, but it's not so much the jokes; it's Jackie's infectious laugh. As far as a writer goes; there are very few in Jackie's league. Jackie came up with many of the hilarious things that came out of Billy West. The questions that Stuttering John asked came from Jackie and Fred. The greatest thing that I could ever say about the Stern Show, in it's prime was the tension that they could only go so far with bad language and then no farther. This is where the genius of Stern and Jackie really was at it's peak. The laugh of Jackie in the background was a big part of that show. There was a certain chemistry that can never be duplicated again. Now Jackie screwed the whole thing up by not taking the money that was offered. He knows it, Stern knows it and most of us know it, however, the Stern show on Sirius, if it were with Jackie would not be the same as the show that went out over terrestrial radio. Jackie Martling will always be Uncle Jackie. One of the funniest things he ever did was to crack up Robin when she was reporting on somebody who was infected with some flesh eating disease. Jackie or Fred; I'm not sure just did a Jackie Ho Ho Ho...and Robin was destroyed. First time and only time that I recall. The way Jackie handled Billy with the puppet was some of the best on air comedy I'd ever heard. Love Uncle Jackie!
